Gregg Whittaker is the founder and Managing Member of Archos Capital Partners, a financial consulting practice that empowers entrepreneurs and tackles some of the most complex risk management issues for global companies today. Mr. Whittaker is also a former Professor of Finance and Economics at William Jewell College and Managing Director and Global Head of Credit Derivatives for Chase Securities.
During his tenure at Chase, Mr. Whittaker and his team pioneered innovations in "synthetic asset securitization", "structured notes" and "off-balance sheet funding," launching the largest asset-backed funding vehicles in the world. Mr. Whittaker’s group was rated by clients and peers as the top Credit Derivatives Group in the world during his final two years on Wall Street with annual revenue in excess of $250 million.
Mr. Whittaker is a native of Colorado. He played varsity baseball at Colorado State University and received a B.S. in economics. He then earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Mr. Whittaker was formerly on the boards of a number of for-profit and non-profit organizations and is a left-handed batting practice pitcher for the Jewell baseball team.
David Beach is the Managing Partner at Crestmont Investment, which he founded in late 2017 in partnership with family offices and select deal intermediaries interested in direct investment deal flow. In addition to leading Crestmont, he is a senior advisor to Gordian Group where he leads their family office advisory practice. As a registered person with Weild & Co, he works with investment bankers from across the world on select investment offerings of interest to the Crestmont network of family offices.
Prior to forming Crestmont, Mr. Beach formed, funded and managed BCM Energy Partners – a private investment company acquiring oil and gas properties with family office investors. He is a former managing director with several boutique investment banks in Manhattan prior to forming BCM. Mr. Beach studied economics and business administration at Regis University.
Larry Schafran is a private investor with interests in "disruptive" technologies. He recently co-founded a new oil/gas recovery company (Legacy Oil, Inc.) that "adopts" stranded, orphaned and/or marginal oil/gas wells. He is certified as a Sarbanes-Oxley "financial expert" and currently serves as a Director of Wright Investors' Service Holdings, Inc. (WISH) and Glasstech, Inc.
Mr. Schafran is a former Director of COPsync, Inc. (COYN), VerifyMe, Inc. (VRME), Cupcake Digital, Inc., SecureAlert Inc. and numerous other companies. He served as a Director and Member of the Strategic Planning and Finance Committees at COMSAT Corporation, where he promoted the merger of COMSAT into Lockheed Martin.
Prior to his immersion in the world of corporate governance, dispute resolution, and complex litigation, Mr. Schafran was a Vice-President of Victor Palmieri and Company Incorporated, with responsibility for negotiating the disposition of all of Penn Central's major real estate holdings in New York and New Jersey. Mr. Schafran holds BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Wisconsin, where he was also an Instructor, teaching Corporation Finance and Modern Corporate Problems.
James Leach is a seasoned executive with over thirty years of experience in both public and private global companies. He is currently Senior Managing Director of National Trust, a single-family office which manages the interests of one of Rhode Island's oldest industrial families. The family business was originally established in 1905. In the 1990s, Mr. Leach pioneered the conversion of Superfund sites for private development with the US EPA. This process became the model for the entire country.
Mr. Leach serves on the boards of Kenney Manufacturing Company and Airborne Wireless Network and is the Treasurer and Trustee of the Rectory School Board. He is the Chairman of the Rhode Island PBS Foundation, and a former Chairman of the Providence City Planning Commission. Mr. Leach was formerly a Board Member of Dinewise, Inc. and Lifespan/Miriam Hospital and served as a Trustee of the Providence Public Library. He has also served as the Vice Chairman of the Touro Synagogue Foundation in Newport, Rhode Island. Mr. Leach is a 2020 Inductee to the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame. Mr. Leach graduated from Nasson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance, Georgia Institute of Technology Innovation Leadership, and Harvard Business School AC and GNE Programs.
John Koskinen is a businessman and public official. He served four years as the 48th IRS Commissioner from December 2013 to November 2017. In the wake of the collapse of the mortgage bubble and resulting crisis, Mr. Koskinen served as non-executive chairman of Freddie Mac from 2008 to 2011, including a stint as acting CEO in 2009. He served for a number of years on the boards of AES Corp. and American Capital, Ltd., and is currently a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration and Trustee Emeritus of Duke University.
Early in his career, Mr. Koskinen served as a legislative assistant to Mayor John Lindsey of New York City (D) and administrative assistant to Senator Abraham Ribicoff (D-CN). Leaving government service in 1973, Mr. Koskinen worked the next 21 years for the Palmieri Company, which specialized in "turnaround management" of foundering companies. During this period, he also found time to serve as vice chairman of the American Professional Soccer League from 1987 to 1991. He then chaired the Washington, D.C. host committee for the 1994 World Cup.
Returning to public service after the 1992 elections, Mr. Koskinen served as Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget from 1994 to 1997, where he was responsible for managing the government shutdowns in November and December of 1995. Mr. Koskinen was also an assistant to President Bill Clinton and chair of the President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion from 1998 to 2000.
Fred Zeidman is Chairman of WoodRock & Co., an investment banking service business, Chairman of Good Works Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) and former Chairman of Gordian Group investment banking firm. Over the course of his distinguished 50-year career, Mr. Zeidman has been involved in numerous high-profile workouts, restructurings, and reorganizations. He was former CEO, President and Chairman of Seitel, Inc., a Houston-based provider where he was instrumental in the successful turnaround of the Company.
Mr. Zeidman most recently served as Chief Restructuring Officer of Transmeridian Exploration, Inc. and Bankruptcy Trustee AremisSoft Corp. He held the post of Chairman of the Board and CEO of Unibar Corporation, the largest domestic independent drilling fluids company, until its sale to Anchor Drilling Fluids.
Mr. Zeidman is also Chairman Emeritus of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, Chairman Emeritus of the University of Texas Health Science System Houston, interim Chief Financial Officer of the Texas Heart Institute and is Vice Chancellor of the Houston Community College System. He further serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the University of Saint Thomas and is National Campaign Chairman of Development Corp of Israel (Israel Bonds).
Mr. Zeidman holds a Bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master’s in Business Administration from New York University.
David Weild is Founder, Chairman and CEO of Weild & Co. He is a former Vice Chairman and executive committee member of The NASDAQ Stock Market and spent years running Wall Street investment banking and equity capital markets businesses.
The studies co-authored by Mr. Weild have documented the long-term decline in equity capital formation in the United States and provided the core arguments that gave rise to the JOBS Act. For these reasons, Mr. Weild has been called "The father of the JOBS Act." Mr. Weild has testified in Congress and at the SEC on these and other market issues and attended the signing of the JOBS Act by President Obama in the Rose Garden on April 5, 2012.
Mr. Weild also co-authored a study entitled, "Making Stock Markets Work to Support Economic Growth" and presented in 2013 to the 35 member nations of the OECD, IOSCO and the European Commission, the U.S. Treasury and SEC and to the CEO of the World Federation of Exchanges.
Mr. Weild holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business and a BA from Wesleyan University. He studied on exchange at Le Sorbonne, Ecole des Haute Etudes Commerciales and The Stockholm School of Economics. He is also Chairman of the Board of Tuesday’s Children, the 9/11 charity.
